Long Banded Silverline, Spindasis lohita senama (Fruhstorfer)

This tiny butterfly was once very common but sadly, modern town planning often neglects provisions for their well being in terms of host plants and use of pesticides (I think) has generally reduced suitable habitats for butterflies in suburban areas. Nevertheless, one particular spot in the park in Raub has a constant tiny population of this tiny jewel and I was glad I could take a few snaps of them before the gardeners destroyed the "wild patch" fringing the lotus ponds...

14 September 2013 @ 11:49 - this perfect specimen was found puddling deep in a forested area, unusual place to encounter this mostly "urbanized" species.

They seem to be attracted to this particular plant as a few of them were seen on the same small tree.
