Rather rare, strong flyer and is restricted to undisturbed environment. The males are essentially carrion feeders and are attracted to rotting prawns and carcasses. It is an umistakable butterfly with a rather dark blue spotting with a lighter blue spot in between the veins and cell spots of the buff grey wings.

One without flash...
This is indeed a rather rare butterfly restricted to the deep forest and I have only seen it on a few occassions in the past. This insect was attracted by some bat droppings on the floor of a dilapidated hut. It is a very strong and swift flyer and if there is any indication of it would be an unusual flashes of metallic gunmetal-grey of its uppersides contrasting its very dark cryptic undersides in flight. Lucky me - two Constables came to the exact same spot the next day! Above all 3 photos taken @ 12:15
