The Horsfield's Baron, Tanaecia iapis puseda (Moore)

This is one of the commonest Baron to be seen along the jungle path during the active months of March - June but otherwise scarce throughout the year. It is perhaps the most likely blue-bordered nymphalid to be encountered around villages and fruit orchards besides forested country. This is a skittish butterfly in general and does not stay long if disturbed.
