The Starry Bob, Iambrix stellifer (Butler)

This is a rarer butterfly than the Chestnut Bob, I. salsala, decidedly a forest denizen but otherwise has the same habits. On the undersides, the hindwings has the appearance of having one more spot, the differentiating spot (between I.salsala) being halfway between the cell end and termen (see table of wings). In general, I. stellifer appears to have a darker rusty shade than I. salsala.

Iambrix stellifer (Butler). Appears to have one more spot than I.salsala on the same space (below).

Iambrix salsala salsala (Moore). Notice the positioning of the much "larger" spot and appear to have only one developped spot on the same space.
