The Marbled Map, Cyrestis cocles earli (Distant) f. earli (Distant)

This is a seasonal butterfly, most frequently to be encountered during the months of March - May in some very restricted areas in Raub. Where they are to be found, they are usually found puddling in numbers on moist spots along the jungle paths where animals had urinated on. It has a characteristic restless slow flapping of its wings even when settled on moist spots. They are confined to undisturbed forests and have a tendency to puddle on moist spots in the shades.
