From afar ressembles an A. centaurus due to the yellowish transverse stripes on the underside of the FW cell. The differently shaped costa of the HW (falcate) and the lack of metal marks on the tornal area of the HW will immediately set it apart from the other Arhopalas. This is a rare lowland forest butterfly but in Raub it resides in a localised colonies in an urbanised area.
